About the Score

With texts by Ina Coolbrith (1841-1928) who served as the first poet laureate of California, this set of two contrasting miniatures takes the listener on a journey to the beauty of coastal California. Commissioned by the San Francisco Youth Chorus, this work is appropriate for singers in youth and children's choirs, but also for JH/MS, HS and developing university and community treble ensembles. The texts, while beautiful and evocative, are not specific to young people.
