This piece will make an excellent opener for your middle schoolers! After a bright fanfare introduction, the piece continues with singable melodies based on the old hymn tune “Zion’s Walls.” Also an excellent teaching piece for duple rhythms in 6/8 time, due to the piano part which was designed to be fun to play and supportive at the same time.
