About the Score

Commissioned by Choirs of America and Harmony Productions for a 2026 premiere in Carnegie Hall, Song of Rest speaks to our innate need for rest. Inspired by the composer's time in a valley in Glencoe, Scotland as well as the challenges we all face in a world that increasingly keeps us busy and away from rest, Song of Rest is a call to return to that place. For SATB choir, this is an excellent choice for developing mixed ensembles--especially those that wish to work on phrasing and melodic line.
