About the Score

The Comet describes the activity of a comet as it orbits closer to the sun, emanating heat and glowing brightly. The piece was inspired by the rich history of astronomy in Birr Castle, Co. Offaly, Ireland, which is home to the Leviathan telescope, previously the largest in the world.
