Jonathan Miller is best known for work with two choral ensembles. In 1993 he founded Chicago a cappella and served that professional ensemble for 27 years as artistic director. In 2016, along with his wife, Sandy Siegel Miller, Jon co-founded the Sounds Good Choir for older adults, which he currently serves as artistic director,. Jon has a composing style that is eclectic, full of humor and rhythmic vitality, and an intense desire to communicate. His catalog includes more than 125 works, mostly but not all for SATB a cappella voices. In the Jewish-music world, Jon is a member of the davening (worship) team at West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest, Illinois, serves as high-holiday cantor at Congregation Rodfei Zedek in Chicago, and was founding board chair of The Max Janowski Society. Jon holds degrees in mathematics and musicology; he has worked in print and music publishing as well as in sales positions for two software startups, and he is former director of the choral catalog for Musicnotes.com.
